Overview

IG Follow Status is a Chrome extension that displays Instagram follow relationship indicators directly on Instagram profile pages.

Your privacy is important. This extension is designed to operate entirely within your browser and does not collect, store, transmit, or sell personal information.

Information Collection

IG Follow Status does not collect any of the following:

• Personal information
• Account credentials
• Email addresses
• Phone numbers
• Payment information
• Location data
• Browsing history outside Instagram
• Analytics data
• Usage statistics

How the Extension Works

The extension reads relationship information that is already available to the logged-in user on Instagram in order to display follow status indicators on profile pages.

All processing occurs locally within the user’s browser.

No information is transmitted to external servers.

Data Storage

The extension stores only user preferences using Chrome’s local storage API, including:

• Extension enabled/disabled state
• Badge style preference
• Compact mode preference
• Tooltip preference
• Theme preference

These settings remain on the user’s device and are never transmitted externally.

Data Sharing

IG Follow Status does not:

• Share data with third parties
• Sell user data
• Transfer user data outside the browser
• Use advertising networks
• Use analytics providers

Remote Code

The extension does not download, execute, or inject remote code from external servers.

All code executed by the extension is packaged within the extension itself and reviewed as part of the Chrome Web Store submission.

Security

Because all processing occurs locally within the browser and no user data is transmitted externally, the extension minimizes privacy and security risks.

Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Any changes will be published in this repository and reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
